The Killers Album Covers

These are the four albums by The Killers, the same font is used throughout giving the band a unique way of being recognised when an album is released. To keep to the theme of The Killers we must use this font, or one similar, when we design our own digipak cover. 3 of the albums use landscape images meaning that we must try and incorporate this theme into our own cover. The album names are placed underneath the masthead in smaller font that does not stand out from the band name. This conveys that the band name is the most eye catching thing on the album covers. When we create our own digipak we will take this into account and use smaller font that blends into the background image. All of the font is also placed in near enough the same place on each album, meaning that we must put ours in roughly the same position.

This digipak, Live From the Royal Albert Hall, by The Killers shows the typical layout for an Indie digipak. The front cover does not feature a background image of the band, but the back panel shows the band members. The image on the front cover links to the title of the album as the picture is of 'The Royal Albert Hall.' This means that when i come to design my own digipak i will link my background image to the album name. The inside panels of the digipak are much darker than those on the outside, meaning that my front and back panels must stand out from the rest. As there is a photo of the band members featured on the digipak i will include one on my digipak to help my target audience distinguish the band.
