Questionnaire Replies

These are a sample of the questionnaires that we received back.

We then sent out a second e-mail to the students who filled out our questionnaire:
'Thank you for your reply to our previous email, and filling out the questionnaire. We were wondering if you would like to help us further in our research, by being interviewed and filmed, by just answering simple questions on your taste in music. Please get back to us, and let us know if you would like to participate. Thanks again!
Becky Dudley and Jo Stevens'

Questionnaire

I sent out an e-mail to a selection of students in the age group that I have chosen as my target audience. This is a copy of the e-mail that i sent out:

'Hi,
Our names are Jo Stevens and Rebecca Dudley, and we are sending out a questionnaire to help us complete our A level media coursework. We would really appreciate it if you could fill out the questionnaire and send it back to us as soon as possible.
Thanks,
Jo and Becky'

Research Conclusion

From looking at various music videos, digipaks and advertisements for the genre of indie I have found a lot of similarites between them, and thought about how I can incorporate them into my own work.

- Music Videos
Most of the videos that i researched were hybrids, meaning that they are a combination of performance and narrative. This means that to stick to the Indie genre when it comes to planning my own video i must incorporate both of these into it. I must also use the typical instruments of drums, guitar and microphone with the lead singer standing out as the main band member. This can be done by using many close ups of their face, as well as arranging the band with the lead singer at the front, conveying that they are the main member when using the master shot. When planning my own video i must also try and link the visuals with lyrics as this is also typical of the Indie genre.

- Digipaks
From looking at the digipaks that i researched i found them plain and not very eye catching. This had made me want to use bright colours and large font when it comes to designing my own. Neither digipak uses an image of the band as the background so i must try and imcorporate this into my own digipak by using an image that links to the album title.

- Advertisements
From looking at the digpaks for the advertisements i found that they use the same image as the digipak front cover. This means that whatever image i chose for my front cover of my digipak, i must incorporate this into my advertisement, making sure that they link, and can be distinguished as the same artist and album. The advertisements also use very basic information and make sure that the release date and artsit name stand out from the rest of the advert. To keep to this theme i must use contrasting colours to make this information stand out on my own advertisement.
